Leslie Karotkin

2015 CPGR Volunteer of the year – Being named the 2015 CPGR Volunteer of the Year is an honor that Leslie feels very humble and grateful to receive, especially knowing the recognition comes from colleagues in the gift planning field she so admires and respects. Leslie Karotkin remembers her first-ever job as being “mainly entertaining,” wrapping Christmas gifts at a department store when she was 16. Like many jobs to follow, she seized the opportunity to get her foot in the door, in this case, for non-seasonal work in the lingerie department, which she admits was “not exactly every sixteen […]

Dale Zschoche – Director of Gift Planning, The USAFA Endowment

“Call me Dale,” he says by way of introduction, after I’ve slaughtered the pronunciation of his last name…and then he laughs graciously, his smile radiating over the phone line.

Detroit native Dale Zschoche started his education at Michigan Technological University as a Forestry major. Fortunately for the world of planned giving, he soon realized that it was too solitary for his liking and with limited job prospects, perhaps he would do better studying business.

Jeffrey Mielke, CFRE, CSPG – Associate Director, Estate and Organizational Giving at the USOC

Jeffrey Mielke CSPG has been involved with CPGR since returning to Colorado in 2005. Originally drawn to the state as an undergraduate at the United States Air Force Academy he travels frequently but insists nothing could compel him to move away from the area again. Life in the Air Force might seem like an unlikely beginning for a development professional but Jeff like many in the field insists he “kind of fell into” fundraising. After earning his degree from the Academy, he was stationed in Little Rock as a Missileer on the now-defunct Titan II system. He then moved from […]
